Cheese Bread Recipe (No Oven, 25 Minutes)

 

Ingredients:

 

2 cups all-purpose flour

 

1 tsp baking powder

 

½ tsp baking soda

 

½ tsp salt

 

1 tsp sugar

 

1 cup yogurt (or buttermilk)

 

2 tbsp oil or melted butter

 

1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or mix)

 

2 tbsp chopped herbs (parsley, chives, or coriander – optional)

 

Butter for greasing

 

Method (Stovetop, No Oven):

 

Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.

Add wet ingredients: Pour in yogurt and oil/butter. Mix until a soft dough forms (not sticky).

Incorporate cheese: Fold in the shredded cheese and herbs.

Shape the bread: Flatten dough into a round disc about 1–1.5 inch thick.

Heat pan: Place a heavy non-stick pan or skillet on low-medium heat. Grease lightly with butter.

Cook covered: Place the dough in the pan, cover with a lid, and cook for 10–12 minutes until golden at the bottom.

Flip carefully: Turn over, cover again, and cook another 8–10 minutes until fully cooked and fluffy.

Serve warm: Brush with melted butter and sprinkle extra cheese on top if desired.
