Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream Recipe
Ingredients:
2 cups heavy cream (cold)
1 cup whole milk (cold)
¾ cup sugar
1 tbsp vanilla extract (or 1 vanilla bean scraped)
Pinch of salt

Instructions (with ice cream maker):
1. Mix base – In a bowl, whisk together milk, sugar, and salt until the sugar dissolves. Stir in heavy cream and vanilla.
2. Chill – Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight).
3. Churn – Pour mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions (usually 20–25 minutes).
4. Freeze – Transfer to an airtight container and freeze for 3–4 hours until firm.

Instructions (no ice cream maker):
1. Prepare the same mixture as above.
2. Pour into a shallow baking dish and freeze for 45 minutes.
3. After 45 minutes, stir vigorously with a fork or whisk to break up ice crystals.
4. Continue checking every 30 minutes, stirring well each time, until creamy (about 3–4 hours).
5. Scoop and enjoy!
